This management plan provides for the use and conservation of coral reef fin fish resources by managing commercial fishing for the reef line fishery in a way to apply and balance the principles of ecologically sustainable development. It consists of 162 sections and is divided into six Chapters. Chapter 3 regulates commercial fishery. It sets fishery symbols (Part 1), line units (Part 2), conditions for particular authorities (Part 3), conditions for boat licences (Part 4) and filleting permits (Part 5). Part 3 also contains provisions on fishing gear and fishing methods. Chapter 5 contains miscellaneous provisions among others on the reviewing of the plan and on offences and penalties.
