The present Regulation provides for the definition and composition of chemical fertilizers, and it outlines the procedures related to labelling, marking, packaging and storing, authorizing inspections in the interested premises. It applies to "EC Fertilizer" listed in Annex 1 which have free circulation within EU and Turkey. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium contents should be clearly indicated. Labels and related documentation must include the following information: (i) "EC Fertilizer" in capital letters; (ii) if applicable, fertilizer class as indicated in Annex 1; (iii) For blended fertilizers, the blending must be clearly stamped on packages and reported in the documentation; (iv) other mandatory labelling as specified in the text. Labelling and documentation shall be written in Turkish and a translation is mandatory in case of a foreign language. So called Tolerances are listed in Annex 2 and they apply to the sampling, analysis and production processes of fertilizers. However producers could not systematically and regularly benefit from these tolerances. Detailed technical descriptions and explanations are provided for Fertilizers with Primary Plant Nutrients, Fertilizers with Secondary Plant Nutrients, Fertilizers with Micro Plant Nutrients, and Ammonium Nitrate Fertilizers Containing High Level Nitrogen. Details for inspection procedures and laboratories are also provided in the Regulation.
