Decree No. 5.995 instituting the Management System for the project integrating the river São Francisco with the river basins located in the Nordeste region (SGIB).

This Decree is composed of eight chapters divided in 23 articles. It institutes the Management System for the project integrating the river São Francisco with the river basins located in the northern Nordeste (SGIB). The aim is to grant an integrated, decentralized and sustainable management of water resources. The SGIB will include monitoring groups composed of federal and state bodies in charge for water resources and listed in the Decree. Particular attention is paid to water use prices.
