This Ministerial Decree establishes environmental standards that shall be used by governmental bodies and environmental institutions for the calculation of maximum allowable limits of environmental impact ensuring ecological safety of the population, environmental protection against pollution and rational use of resources. Qualitative requirements for environment shall contain: (a) ecological norms; (b) maximum allowable concentration of pollutants in the atmospheric air, water, soil and subsoil; (b) maximum radiation limit; (c) maximum limit of electro-magnetic pollution; (d) sanitary norms; (e) maximum concentration of chemicals, toxic substances and biological additives in the foodstuffs; (f) maximum allowable limits for the use of chemicals in agriculture; and (g) environmental standards.
