The Act regulates the manufacture, storage, transport and rearing of silkworm seeds, and the disposal, sale or purchase and transport of silkworm cocoons. The Act provides for licences to be issued in order to produce, store, transport, rear and sell silkworm seeds and cocoons. The licensing authority may order the inspection of any premises where silkworm seeds and cocoons are contained. The Government shall specify places where Cocoon Markets shall be located, and shall establish a Committee to regulate the businesses in Cocoon Markets. The Act further provides for offences and penalties.
