This Act states that the trade in cashew nuts shall be undertaken by the State to the exclusion of all others. The Government may authorize cooperative societies, acting as agents of the Government, to purchase and sell cashew nuts within the State and it shall notify the prices to which they may be sold. All raw cashew nuts shall be sold to the cashew factories in the State as provided for in the text. The Act further sets out procedures to apply for permits for raw cashew nuts' transportation which shall be issued by the competent authority. In addition, the Act provides for: powers of officers authorized by the Government to enter and search any premises; confiscation of raw cashew nuts; appeals to the District Judge; offences and penalties; etc.
