These Regulations implement provisions of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Amendment Act 2009 as incorporated in the consolidated version of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 in relation with the transition of State legislated renewable energy target schemes into the expanded national Renewable Energy Target (RET) scheme. The Regulations provide an administrative framework to implement the Principal Act in relation to power station accreditation, eligibility requirements for renewable energy sources, eligibility requirements for solar water heaters and small generation units, and calculation methods for determining the number of RECs.
