This Act provides for basic matters concerning the formulation and implementation of energy policies and energy-related plans to realize a stable, efficient and environment-friendly energy demand and supply structure. The Act provides for the establishment of the Energy Committee and defines its composition. The Committee shall deliberate on matters concerning: formulation of basic energy plans; domestic and overseas energy development; plans related to energy-related transportation; atomic energy development policies; etc. The Act also provides for the establishment of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning to efficiently support the planning, evaluation, management, etc. of energy technology development-related projects.
