With this Decree certain provisions of Law No. 825/37 on the organization of the production of improved seeds of small cereals, forage plants and legumes are amended. It is possible for the agricultural cooperatives to be used as contractors for seed production, at the second stage of production, provided they purchase seeds produced by the State and according to the legislation in force (articles 1-4). Economic incentives are set forth in article 5. Article 8 of this law amends article 11, 13 and 15 of Law No. 825/37 regarding packaging and storage of seeds. Article 11 of the present law amends article 17. According to the new article, import of seeds not complying with tolerance or resistance standards etc, shall be prohibited.
