This Ministerial Decree establishes the requirements for packaging and labelling of commodities either of national origin or imported ones. Foodstuffs’ labels shall obligatorily contain information on expiry date, shelf- life period, nutritional value and place of origin. Labels shall bear inscriptions both in the official language and in the Russian language. Information on labels shall be clear and easily readable. Use of the information misleading the consumers on product labels shall be prohibited. Information on safety storage, transportation, use, recycling and destruction requirements shall be written in a different colour or print on the label. Packaging materials shall comply with hygiene and sanitary requirements.
