This Law provides all necessary measures and standards, including administrative and technical rules and requirements, aimed to offer a sustainable, environmentally safe and low impact waste management on the territory of the Brcko District, Federation of BIH. The basic scopes of this Law are: prevention of the generation of waste; processing of waste for reuse and recycling; extraction of raw materials from waste and its future use for energy production; safe and sustainable disposal of all types of waste defined by this Law and its provisions. This Law mainly relates to the following categories: all categories of waste; all kinds of activities, operations and processes in/or related with waste management. The provisions of this Law shall also apply to: research generated waste (extraction, treatment and storage of mineral resources and/or similar); animal waste and other non-hazardous materials of natural origin that can be used in agricultural purposes; delayed explosives, unless regulated by a special Regulation; radioactive waste; gases discharged into the atmosphere; waste water. The Law is divided into 11 Chapters and 61 articles, including all offences and related penalties.
