This Governmental Decree validates the Guidelines for environmental monitoring of areas located nearby storage facilities containing radioactive waste with a view of ensuring systematic environmental monitoring. The scope shall be safe management of radioactive waste. State regulation and supervision over safe management of radioactive substances and sources of ionizing radiation shall be applicable to: (a) enforcement of radiation safety; (b) compliance with rules and regulations applicable to radiation safety; (c) compliance with licensing terms and conditions applicable to radiation safety; and (d) elaboration and performance of the arrangements for protection of human life and health in case of outbreak of radiation accidents at facilities for management and storage of radioactive waste.
