The purpose of this Agreement is to promote cross - strait food safety communication and mutual trust, and protect the safety and health of people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The two sides agreed to inform each other of food safety information involving cross-strait trade, prompt notify and provide complete information on the major food safety problems and emergencies affecting the health of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
