The purpose of this Agreement is to protect the rights and interests of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits and promote economic, technological and cultural development on both sides. The two sides agree to strengthen the exchange and cooperation in the protection of intellectual property rights (including the rights of patents, trademarks, copyrights and plant variety rights ) between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait on the principle of equality and mutual benefit. Each Party agrees to accept and handle the applications of the other party for variety rights within the scope of the plant species protection list (plant species), and to make further consultation on the expansion of the plant variety protection list (the species that can apply for the variety rights).
