This Act grants the State Government the power to appoint a Licensing Officer who shall grant licenses for the operation of saw mills. In addition to granting licenses, under this Act, the Licensing Officers is also provided the power to enter, inspect, and search saw mills to ascertain if they are operating with the proper license. Furthermore, the Act states that under certain circumstances the licenses of saw mills may be confiscated and lists out the penalties for violation of provisions of this Act.
