These Categories and Standards, consisting of 9 Articles, were enacted according to the Animal Protect Act. According to the Animal Protect Act, one must not manufacture, process, repackage, wholesale, retail, import, export, give away for free, or display for sale a pet food contaminated with pathogenic microorganism, or with a pet health hazard exceeding the allowable level for safety. Article 3-8 provide for the categories of pathogenic microorganisms and harmful substance and safety allowance standards for pet food, among which, Article 6, in particular, concerns pesticide residues in pet food.
