The purpose of this Act is to promote environmental education, assist citizens to understand the interaction of individuals and society with the environment, and enhance the environmental awareness, environmental ethics, and responsibility of the nation taking as a whole. The Regulation is divided into 6 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Environmental Education Policy (II); Environmental Education Underwriting Agency’s Responsibilities (III); Environmental Education Promotion and Incentive Rewards (IV); Penalties (V); Supplementary Provisions (VI). The competent central government authorities shall enact a national environmental education abstract and develop a national environmental education action plan. The competent government authorities of all levels are required to set up an environmental education fund. The competent central government authorities and the competent central government authorities in charge of specific enterprises shall stage the certification of environmental education institutions and environmental education personnel.
