This Resolution approves the Resilience and Integrated Development Programme of the North of Mozambique (PREDIN) with the mission of restoring and consolidating peace and promoting sustainable socio-economic development in the Northern Region of Mozambique, with the aim of promoting well-being, strengthening the provision of basic services, promoting inclusion and the equitable development of human capital, in a way that to reduce community vulnerability factors and violent extremism and contribute to the progress of the three provinces of the northern region. PREDIN's objective is to promote the recovery of basic conditions for economic and social development. This programme was developed based on the Recovery and Peacebuilding Assessment (RPBA) methodology. This methodology allows the use of a standardized and internationally recognized approach, where the underlying causes and impacts of a conflict or crisis and the priorities for socio-economic recovery and peace consolidation are identified. Although terrorism is recognized as the primary cause of instability in Cabo Delgado province, with consequences throughout the northern region of the country, PREDIN focuses on solving the underlying causes of instability as a way of leveraging development in the region and for this reason way to solve current problems and prevent potential future problems. PREDIN's vision aims to make the Northern Region of Mozambique at peace and in full development, with inclusion and participation. Its mission is to restore and consolidate peace and promote sustainable socio-economic development in the Northern Region of Mozambique. The purpose of the program is to promote well-being, strengthen the provision of basic services, promote inclusion and the equitable development of human capital, in order to reduce community vulnerability factors and violent extremism, and contribute to the progress of the three provinces. of the northern region. PREDIN also includes the cross-cutting issues of human rights, gender, youth, food and nutrition security and climate resilience. Cross-cutting issues are of crucial importance in the development of the peacebuilding and economic recovery strategy.
