This Instruction, based on the provisions of the Albanian Law No. 10006 on wild fauna protection, provides for requirements and rules for carrying out the inventory process of wild fauna species, the techniques and methods that are used, the format of the inventory documentation, the publication of results of this inventory, that shall be all performed according to the definitions of Annexes 1, 2 and 3 of this text, and which also rely on the relevant EU directives for the conservation of wild birds, with the purpose of protection, management and control of different types of wild fauna population. The inventory process is carried out to record the concrete state of populations of large mammals, small mammals, birds, amphibians and freshwater fish, the quantity and density of specific individuals in certain habitats, all in order to ensure a favorable conservation status and to maintain the present wild fauna, according to definitions laid down in Annex 1. This text is partially aligned with the provisions provided in the Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the conservation of wild birds.
