The Commission has adopted a conservation measure for the Dissostichus mawsoni fishery in Statistical Division 58.4.1 for the 2022/23 season. Directed fishing for Dissostichus mawsoni in this division is prohibited during this period. The precautionary catch limit for Dissostichus mawsoni in this area is set at 566 tonnes based on trend analysis. The exploratory longline fishery must adhere to specific conditions, including provisions for by-catch mitigation and environmental protection. Additionally, various data reporting and research requirements outlined in Conservation Measures 23-07, 23-04, 24-01, and 23-05 must be followed. Conservation Measures 22-06, 22-07, 22-08, and 22-09, which pertain to environmental protection, are also applicable.
