These Measures are formulated pursuant to the Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China and by reference to the prevailing international practices for the purpose of protecting the lawful rights and interests of consumers, producers, and sellers and regulating the metrological supervision and administration of quantitatively packed commodities. The Measures consists of 21 Articles. Producers and sellers of quantitatively packaged goods shall strengthen metrological management, equip them with metrological testing equipment suitable for their production of quantitatively packaged goods, and ensure that the quantitatively packaged goods produced and sold comply with the provisions of these Measures. Producers and sellers of quantitatively packaged commodities shall correctly and clearly mark the net content of quantitatively packaged commodities in a conspicuous position on their commodity packaging.
