This Act makes provisions for: the qualification requirements of dietitians, dietitians' practice, the establishment and management of the nutrition counseling institutions, offences and penalties, etc. Citizens having passed a dietitian examination and holding a dietitian license in accordance with this Act may practice as a dietitian (art.1). A practicing dietitian should join the dietitian association in the locality of practice (art.9). According to Article 17, the applicant for establishment of a nutrition counseling institution should be a dietitian possessing at least three years of work experience in a teaching hospital or a nutrition counseling institution. The institution may be established after the applicant is registered and obtains the institution operating permit.
