This Law establishes guidelines for implementing incentives for sheep and goat farming in the State of Amazonas. The guidelines for implementing the State Policy to Promote Sheep and Goat Farming in the State of Amazonas will aim to: increase the production of sheep and goat farming; improve productivity and profitability; regulate standardization of sheep and goat farming; improve quality of products offered to the consumer, food safety and the fight against abigeato, by regularizing the slaughter and trade in sheep and goat farming products; encourage the industrial, family and artisanal processing of sheep and goat products; research and technical assistance and rural extension, for related technological modernization; genetic improvement of animals, with the development of more productive, adapted breeds capable of producing a higher quality standard, etc. This type of farming refers to the rearing of sheep and goats for the production of meat, leather, milk and other by-products.
