This Montenegro Action plan for combating illegal activities in forestry for the planned period from the year 2019 until the year 2021 has the goal which is aimed to prevent illegal activities in forests in opposition to all forms of illegal activities in forestry, including forestry theft and illegal occupation of forest land, deliberate subversion of forest land and forest fires, destruction of border lines between state and private forests, corruption in forestry, with a special emphasis on illegal activities in the field of forest use and trade/traffic in illegally cut wood. The activities contained in the Action Plan are specified in three groups, with objectives represented as follows: Preventive measures (prevention), with the aim of preventing phenomena that fall under illegal activities; Monitoring and Detection, with the aim of active monitoring and detection of illegal activities, Repressive measures, with the aim of ensuring that the perpetrators of illegal activities are prosecuted and punished adequately.
