This Action Plan defines and implements measures and actions for enhancing adaptive capacity and resilience of communities to climate change effects and impacts, and for promoting low carbon growth for sustainable development in the county. This Action Plan is inspired by the following guiding principles: sustainable development; social inclusion and attention to special needs of vulnerable and minority groups, and protection of indigenous people’s needs; integrity and transparency. The measures and actions outlined in this Plan covers the following core sectors: disaster risk management, including: drought, floods and other climate-related disasters; food and nutrition security, including: accessibility and affordability of safe and health food; agricultural measures, including: promotion of agricultural extension, research and development to improve farmer’s knowledge on crop production; pest control and management; post harvest treatment; improving irrigation schemes and techniques; water resources and infrastructures management, water supply services; promotion of water quality standards; ensuring ecosystem resilience and protection of the environment; solid waste management practices; investment and development in green and renewable energy sources; fisheries management and improvement of fish quality hygiene and safety; strengthening livestock production services.
