Environmental Improvement Plan for Northern Ireland.

This Plan aims to establish a framework to enhance environmental quality while promoting public health and well-being, economic development, and Northern Ireland’s leadership in environmental stewardship. It builds on past achievements and ongoing strategic initiatives while integrating new approaches to address future challenges. Aligned with the Programme for Government (PfG) and contributing to the broader Green Growth agenda, the Plan sets out ambitious strategic objectives. Developed in collaboration with stakeholders and executive departments, it leverages DAERA’s scientific strategic framework to optimize the use of scientific knowledge in decision-making. By focusing on tangible outcomes in response to major environmental challenges, the Environmental Improvement Plan seeks to ensure a healthy and sustainable living environment for present and future generations
