The general objective of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Resources Plan is to propose a set of goals, activities and strategies for the execution and dynamization of actions related to fishing and aquaculture resources to be implemented by Codevasf from 2024 to 2027, establishing priorities, deadlines, monitoring, evaluation and responsibilities. Its specific objectives are: Release fish and crustaceans in freshwaters, with a view to revitalizing fishing resources; Support the structuring of local productive arrangements (APLs) for aquaculture, with a focus on small producers; Encourage good artisanal fishing practices through technological support for the sustainable use of fishing resources; Monitor and evaluate aquaculture and fisheries development actions implemented by Codevasf; Strengthen actions to revitalize and monitor lagoons; Carry out fish monitoring actions on rivers, reservoirs and aquaculture areas supported by Codevasf; Support diagnoses related to fishing resources and aquaculture activities in the river basins in Codevasf's areas of operation; Develop and disseminate aquaculture technological packages, focusing on river basin native species; Encourage and support measures to include fish in school meals and other social programmes, reducing social vulnerability and promoting food security, etc. PRPA 2024-2027 provides for the following focal axes of concentration, subdivided into the coordinated actions detailed below: Restoring Fish and Crustacean species, Promoting Fish and Crustacean Farming and Sustainable Artisanal Fishing. The Regional Superintendencies, Integrated Centers and regional offices, under the coordination and support of the AR/GDT/UPA, will prepare and execute projects aimed at fulfilling the actions and goals set out in this plan to achieve the overall objective of the PRPA.
