This Resolution requires contracting parties and cooperating non-contacting parties to agree on the principle of launching a roadmap for the implementation of a restricted fishing zone in the Cabliers coral mounds in the Alboran Sea. The purpose of the roadmap is to adopt appropriate protection and management measures, in order to contribute to the protection of vulnerable marine ecosystems and minimize the impacts on marine biological resources, in particular on the key stock of blackspot seabream and their ecosystems. The contracting parties and cooperating non-contacting parties shall temporarily prohibit the use of dredges and towed trawls in any professional or recreational fishing activity by vessels flying their flag in the area bounded by the lines joining the geographical coordinates laid down in this Resolution. All prohibition measures adopted by the contracting parties and cooperating non-contacting parties for their fleets at the delimited area shall be notified to the GFCM Secretariat.
