This Technical Guidelines for Marine Ranch Construction is a national standard proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and administered by the National Technical Committee on Aquaculture Standardization (SAC/TC 156). The Standard consists of nine chapters, defining terms and concepts related to marine ranch construction, establishing fundamental principles, and providing guidance on planning and layout, habitat creation, stock enhancement and release, facility and equipment setup, as well as project acceptance. As the first national standard in the field of marine ranch construction in China, the Standard fully takes into account the key technical elements required, regional differences in construction levels and approaches, and China’s wide latitudinal span. It standardizes the main types of nearshore marine ranch habitats and the technical elements involved throughout the entire construction process — including pre-construction planning and layout, habitat creation and stock enhancement during construction, and project acceptance after completion.
