This Law creates the Agromirim Extension Programme within the public school network of Mato Grosso, with the central objective of fostering meaningful interaction between students and the agricultural reality of the state. The programme seeks to strengthen students’ understanding of the social and economic importance of agriculture by offering extracurricular educational activities focused on rural life, production systems, and the role of agricultural and livestock activities in employment, income generation, and food and raw‑material supply. The law aims to expose children and adolescents to the knowledge, experiences, and daily routines of rural producers, thereby deepening their appreciation of the agricultural sector and its contribution to state and national development. In addition, the law outlines objectives related to cultivating informed, socially responsible, and sustainability‑minded citizens. It aims to eliminate misconceptions about the agricultural sector, prepare students to engage in rural‑extension activities, highlight the strategic role of agropecuary production in socioeconomic development, and promote awareness of good agricultural practices across their communities.
