The Regulation of the Upper Austrian State Government establishes implementing provisions for the administration of fisheries rights under the Upper Austrian Fisheries Act 2020, including the structure and maintenance of the official fisheries register, registration of waters and rights holders, and requirements for fishing licences and their validity. It defines competency requirements for fishers through recognised qualifications, training courses, examinations, and continuing education for fisheries protection officers, supported by specified administrative procedures and documentation standards. The Regulation also introduces conservation measures such as species-specific closed seasons, minimum landing sizes, protection of certain taxa, restrictions on fishing methods, and obligations regarding invasive alien species in line with EU Regulation 1143/2014.
