This Executive Order regulates Denmark’s vocational education and training programme for animal keepers, preparing students and apprentices to care for animals in zoos and laboratory-animal facilities, work in pet shops, or manage and train horses. The programme leads to a level 4 qualification and offers four specialisations: zoo animals, laboratory animals, pet-shop work and horse management; certain specialisations may also be completed through an eux programme. It establishes the programme’s duration, admission requirements, required competencies and certificates, recognition of prior learning, and final school examination. The Order allows students who began under the previous rules to continue under them or transfer in accordance with applicable transitional arrangements.
