This Law establishes the State Programme for Research and Innovation in Climate Solutions and Sustainability within the public education system of Paraíba. Its main objective is to promote environmental education, encourage scientific research, and support the development of practical solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation. The Programme integrates climate and sustainability topics into school curricula, fosters the creation of sustainable laboratories for hands-on learning, promotes partnerships with universities and research institutions, and encourages awareness campaigns and science fairs focused on green innovation and environmental responsibility. The Law further aims to engage students in developing innovative projects addressing key sustainability challenges, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management and recycling, water conservation, sustainable agriculture, community gardens, and carbon emission monitoring and reduction. It also authorizes cooperation with private-sector and civil society organizations to support programme activities and provides for technical and financial assistance to participating schools.
