This Law authorises the creation of a Professional Qualification Programme for Women in the Tourism and Events Sector in the State of Piauí. Its primary objective is to promote the professional training, economic empowerment and labour market inclusion of women, with particular priority given to single mothers and mothers of children with disabilities who are in situations of social vulnerability. The programme seeks to advance gender equality, strengthen women's economic autonomy, and foster social inclusion by providing free technical and vocational training in areas such as tourism, hospitality, gastronomy, hotel management, event organisation, customer service and entrepreneurship. A further objective of the law is to strengthen local economic development through the creation of a skilled workforce for tourism and events, while encouraging female entrepreneurship and income generation. To achieve these goals, the programme is to be implemented through partnerships with public authorities, educational institutions, private businesses and organisations linked to the tourism industry. The law also establishes measures to facilitate participation, such as recognised certification, transparent selection procedures, and potential support services including transport assistance, meals and childcare arrangements, thereby improving access to professional opportunities for the target groups.
