This Integrated Development Plan serves as the Nandi county's principal medium-term development framework, guiding planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of county programmes and projects. The mission of this Plan is building a strong and viable society based on moral values, inclusiveness, and respect for all. The Plan identifies the following transformational priorities: universal healthcare; agricultural transformation; water supply expansion; infrastructure and road connectivity; trade and industrial development education and vocational training; youth empowerment; environmental conservation; digital government and public service modernisation. Concerning strategic objectives and key actions, the Plan specifies targeted objectives by the following sectors: agriculture and cooperative development; health sector; water, environmental conservation and climate change; education and vocational training; youth, sports, culture and social protection; trade, tourism and industrialisation; roads and infrastructure; governance and public services. The objectives of this Plan are then: increasing agricultural productivity, food security, commercialisation, and value addition; promoting livestock development and fisheries management and conservation; strengthening agriculture cooperative governance; provision of affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare services; increasing access to potable water and improve environmental conservation; improving watershed management and wetland protection; improving access to, quality, and relevance of education; empowering youth and increasing social inclusion; creating new jobs and stimulating economic growth; improving governance, public participation, and service delivery.
