This Decision recognises the situation in the Middle East as of 28 February 2026 as an exceptional event causing a significant disruption of markets within the meaning of Article 26(2) of Regulation (EU) 2021/1139, thereby enabling support measures for operators in the Union fisheries and aquaculture sector affected by its consequences. Expenditure eligible for such support must be incurred between 28 February and 31 December 2026 and may be paid until 31 December 2029.
