This Ordinance implements the Cantonal Fire Protection Act by establishing rules on preventive and operational fire protection, including the classification of buildings and installations according to fire risk. It designates the responsible cantonal authorities and sets out requirements for fire safety approvals, fire protection proofs, and compliance with applicable fire safety standards. The Ordinance regulates the duties of property owners, operators, chimney sweeps, and qualified specialists regarding the inspection, maintenance, and safe operation of installations that may present fire hazards. It further governs the organisation, responsibilities, training, and financing of municipal fire brigades, as well as procedures for fire safety inspections and enforcement. The Ordinance also establishes mechanisms for municipal and cantonal oversight, financial contributions and grants, and transitional arrangements.
