These Rules, issued by the Government of Bangladesh under section 32 of the Fish Quarantine Act, 2018 (Act No. 68 of 2018), establish procedures and requirements for the importation, inspection, quarantine and certification of brood fish, fish seed, aquatic genetic materials, ornamental fish, fish products and aquaculture probiotics, laboratory testing, in order to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic animal diseases and to protect Bangladesh's fisheries and aquaculture sector. The Rules prescribe import permit procedures, health certification requirements, quarantine inspections, disease control measures, biosecurity standards, approved species lists, approved probiotics, packaging and labelling requirements, ornamental fish species, quarantine station requirements and administrative fees.
