Territorial Waters and Contiguous Zone Act, 1971.

The Act defines the territorial waters of Malta as the open sea within six nautical miles measured from the low-water mark with the straight baselines method. For purposes of fishing the territorial sea extends to twelve nautical miles. (section 3)
