Legislative Decree No. 161 implementing Council Directives No. 89/284/EEC of 13 April 1989 and No. 89/530/EEC of 18 September 1989 concerning common regulations on fertilizers to be applied in the European Community.

With a view to harmonizing and coordinating the legislation on fertilizers throughout the Community, the present Decree amends several articles of Act of 19 October 1984, No. 748. The amendments concern mainly the definition and chemical composition of the different substances, the characteristics required for obtaining the recognition by the Community ("EC fertilizer" mark), and the composition of the Technical Advisory Commission of Fertilizers.
