The purpose of this Act is the regulation of growing, classifying, buying up, industrial processing and trade in tobacco and tobacco products. To obtain the permit for the production of tobacco the grower shall establish the contract with another part that is registered as a tobacco producer (Part 2). Classification of tobacco shall be performed jointly by the grower and for the part of the producer authorized Commission of three members. The processing of tobacco must be in compliance with the state standards in force (Part 3). The production of tobacco products is regulated in Part 4, and Part 5 deals with the classification of tobacco products. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, as a competent authority for management and supervision of this Act, shall keep the separate registers of a) tobacco growers, b) importers of tobacco, c) labels of tobacco products that are permitted in Croatia and d) tobacco producers (Part 6). The power of county agricultural inspectors is settled down in the Part 7. Finally, Part 8 deals with the offences and Part 9 with transitional provisions.
