The present Regional Act regulates Mountain Communities by defining, in compliance with Legislative Decree No. 267 of 18 August 2000: a) criteria (art. 2) and procedures (art. 3) for delimiting the homogeneous zones to be comprised in Mountain Communities; b) the modalities for the approval of the Statutes of Mountain Communities (art. 4); c) the content as well as the modalities for approving the programming instruments (art. 5); d) relationships among Mountain Communities and other Entities (art. 6). Article 7 specifies the financial sources for Mountain Communities, including the Regional Fund for Mountain set up by article 3, paragraph 2 of Regional Act No. 10 of 1998.
