Commission Decision 2003/547/EC on temporary measures to prevent the transmission of foot-and-mouth disease from certain North African countries to the territory of the European Union.

The operator of an empty motor vehicle being used or which has been used for transport of livestock and coming from a third country mentioned in Annex I shall provide information at the point of entry into the European Union so as to ensure that the vehicle has been cleansed and disinfected. Article 3 lays down further provisions in respect of livestock vehicles carrying equidae from a third country. Annex II contains the specimen of the cleansing and disinfection certificate for means of transport used for the transport of livestock.
