These standards for the dairy industry implement the Dairy Industry Act 1993. They are divided into 6 Parts. Part 1 is on definitions, Part 2 on standards for dairy produce, including product standards, carriage and storage of dairy produce and packaging if unpasturized milk. Part 3 sets standards for factories and depots along with structural and operational requirements for such facilities, standards for quality control of dairy produce, and for record keeping. Part 4 contains standards for testing and analysis of dairy produce. Part 5 sets standards for a dairy and Part 6 provides standards for vehicles used to carry or store dairy produce.
