The Act consists of 47 articles divided into the following Chapters: Preliminary (I); Constitution of Andra Pradesh Water, Land and trees Authority (II); Groundwater protection measures(III); Surface water protection measures (IV); Trees (V); Miscellaneous(VI). The Act provides for the institution, function, tasks and responsibilities of the related Authority and particularly for: the registration of wells and the licence to drill wells and boreholes,the access to drinking water,rain water collection, the reuse or recycle of water and the prevention of water pollution, for both surface and groundwater, the prevention and conservation measures for lakes, rivers and ponds, the forestation of urban areas, the restrictions of grazing in tree-planted areas and so on.
