This Regional Legislative Decree, composed of 14 articles and 2 Annexes, classifies the protected natural heritage of 'Vinha da Ilha do Pico'. It endorses the recommendations received by the UNESCO International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) on the revision of the areas to be included in the aforementioned protected natural heritage. The Decree repeals the previous Regional Decree No. 12/96/A creating the protected natural heritage of 'Vinha da Ilha do Pico'. The Annex I classifies the protected areas belonging to the Communes of São Roque do Pico, Madalena, Lajes do Pico; Annex II provides a geographical map of the island highlighting the protected areas.
