This Act, consisting of 14 sections, prohibits the establishment of certain nuclear waste facilities in the territory of South Australia, in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the people and to protect the environment. For the purposes of the Act, the transportation and importation of nuclear waste in the state is prohibited and the Act contains provisions on enforcement and on offences and penalties.
