The Commission is a coordinating body ensuring inter-action of the federal institutions in the sphere of regulation of the fisheries. The main tasks of the Commission are: 1) elaboration of proposals for ensuring the realization of common state policy in the sphere of fisheries; 2) organization and coordination of activity of the federal executive bodies as regards elaboration of proposals in the sphere of regulation of fisheries; 3) examination of the issues of inter-action of the federal executive bodies and the institutions concerned in the process of implementation of the governmental decisions in the sphere of fisheries; 4) ensuring the efficient inter-action and coordination of the activity of federal executive bodies as regards elaboration of normative legal acts regulating the development of fisheries. Decisions adopted but the Commission pertaining to its sphere of competence are compulsory for all federal executive bodies represented in the Commission.
