The Parties shall cooperate in the following fields: (a) joint management of energy systems; (b) environmental protection through participation in the creation of international ecological safety system and mutual assistance in case of natural disasters (art. 6). The Parties shall undertake joint efforts for the mitigation of the consequences of Chernobyl disaster and the Aral Sea ecological disaster and shall exchange information regarding the aforesaid problems (art. 7).
