The present Law implements the Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment and the Federal Act on the evaluation of environmental impact. The text consists of 11 articles divided into 3 Parts as follows: General provisions for environmental impact assessment (I); Classification of environmental impact assessment (II); Strategic environmental impact assessment (III). Four Annexes are enclosed: List of projects subject to environmental impact assessment (1); Criteria for preliminary assessment in specific cases (2); List of plans and programmes subject to strategic environmental impact assessment (3); Criteria for the preliminary assessment in specific cases within a strategic environmental impact assessment (5). Four Annexes are enclosed.
